Lawrence “Larry” Dennis Foushee, Sr., 82, of Louisville passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was born in Ekron, Kentucky to the late Ira Joe and Anna Mary Foushee.

Larry graduated from Flaherty High School, Meade County, Brescia College, Owensboro, Kentucky, and Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. He served as an Army soldier, high school teacher, builder, landlord, friend to the homeless and longtime member of Shepherds of Christ Associates prayer group.

Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Rosalie (Rosie) Senn Foushee, three children, Larry II, Michelle McCray (Dewayne) and Andre; three grandchildren, Jenica Stiles (Korey), Truell McCray (Tynan) and Trevor McCray; three great grandchildren, Willow McCray, Ira Joseph McCray and Tanner Stiles.

Larry says goodbye to his brothers Steve and David Foushee and his sisters Rose Anna Sarver, Julia Williams, Martha Jones, and Marietta Mullins.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Marion, Martin, Tommy, Frank and John Louis Foushee and sisters, Regina Foushee LaFollette and Kathleen Foushee McCamish.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, July 22, at noon at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 639 S. Shelby Street was followed at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road. Visitation was Tuesday, July 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road.
