Leo J. Knaff, M.D., age 96, passed away on February 2, 2026, in Carmel, Indiana. Born on March 25, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the cherished son of Leo and Josephine Knaff. Leo was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Jean Knaff, nee Murray. He was the loving father of the late Mark Leo Knaff, the late Paul Joseph Knaff, and the late Philip James Knaff. Leo was also a dear brother to the late Clifford D. (Jim) Knaff and the late John F. Knaff. He is survived by his cherished granddaughter, Bethany Ann Knaff, her husband, David Frandle, several nieces, nephews and loyal companion, Arline O’Connell.
Dr. Knaff was a longtime resident of Burr Ridge, Illinois. He honorably served his country as a U.S. Navy Veteran. Throughout his distinguished career in medicine, Dr. Knaff held the position of Chairman of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
