Leonard O. “Bud” Spalding, 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was born November 12, 1938 in Evansville to the late Rosella (Memmer) and Leonard Spalding. Bud graduated from Memorial High School in 1956 and then served in the United States Navy. He graduated from the University of Evansville and received his Master’s Degree from Indiana State University.
Bud retired from Keller Crescent in 2001 after 28 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He and his wife were dog sitters for many local families over the years. Bud was an avid University of Evansville basketball fan. He enjoyed cruises, trips to Branson, MO and taking motor coach tours all over the US and Scandinavia. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis (Heckman) Spalding; son, Gregory (Amy) Spalding; grandchildren, Adam and Nicholas Spalding; sisters, Janet Bump and Gayle Spalding; brother, Donald (Susan) Spalding; and one niece and three nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his grandson, Ben Hatfield.
