Mark John Boscardin died after a long struggle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Mark was born and raised on the North Side of Pittsburgh attending St. Cyril of Alexandria Grade School and graduating from North Catholic High School in 1967 after attending Saint Meinrad High School his freshman year (1963-64). He joined the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Rankin LKA 103 as a Radioman 2nd Class. After his service, he attended and graduated Cum Laude from Point Park College and then received his Masters in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation from Pitt, Mark managed the Tutorial Program at Point Park College, he moved on to a sales career working as a Regional Manager for Liken Medical and the National Home Development. He is the son of Louise M. Boscardin and the late Benjamin Boscardin. He is also survived by his brother, Milo J. (Jan); sister, Mary Jean Downie (Alastair) of White Bear Lake, MN; uncle of Danielle Skirtish, Jessica, Kiefer, Gina and Richard J. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and many cousins who he loved and close friends, Pat and Mari Murphy. Mark was a voracious reader who also liked to golf, fish, work and especially play poker. He did the best he could with the cards he was dealt. He was loved and will be missed. In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be made to the Carnegie Library.Published in the Pittsburgh Gazette on December 6, 2009.
