Mrs. Mary Etta McPeek Kiefer 89 of Dunbar, WV was born August 20, 1929 at Newark, OH a daughter of the late John Spencer and Cleola Mae Williams McPeek. She departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Dunbar Center in Dunbar.Mrs. Kiefer was a former administrative assistant with the University of FloridaÆs South American Studies department, the former office manager at the University of IndianaÆs Endocrinology department, a former Sister at the Monastery of Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, IN, former Grant Writer for both university departments and the Monastery, and she was a member of both the Cross Lanes United Methodist Church and Madison United Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford E. Kiefer, her son Keith Kiefer, siblings; Dr. Gwynn S. McPeek, and Sr. Betty J. Gittins, OSF.Survivors include her daughter Kathy (Ray) Goings of Dunbar, grandchildren; Jennifer (Kris) Conley of North Haledon, NJ, Amy Kelter of Vancouver, WA, and Steven Cregger of Bluefield, VA, great grandchildren; Sean, Josh, and Kyle Conley, Gabby Sargent, and Maddy, Justin, and Ryan Cregger, and great-great grandchild Taylor.
