Mary Jo Holmes, 81, of Jasper, formerly of Ferdinand, passed away Sunday, February 19,2017, at St. Charles Assisted Living Center in Jasper. Mary Jo was born October 22, 1935in Maywood, IL to Henry and Alexandria (Tennis) Schmitz. She married Wendell Holmeson August 7, 1954 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton. He preceded her in death inMarch of 1983. Mary Jo is survived by a son, Michael (Joyce) Holmes of Lafayette, IN; two daughters, Connie H. (Jerry) Egloff of Ferdinand and Barbara (Roel) Vining of Windsor, CO; two sisters, Sr. Barbara C Schmitz, OSB of Ferdinand and Patricia Schleinzer of Lombard, IL; one brother-in-law, David (Marsha) Holmes of Evansville; one sister-in-law, Susie Wilson of Evansville and six grandchildren. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell and a daughter, Kathy Holmes.
