Michael James McCullough, 78, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital.
Michael was born in Princeton, Indiana on August 31, 1946 to the late Edward and Mildred (Hillman) McCullough. He earned a Masters in Industrial Engineering from University of Michigan. Michael was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He spent Saturday mornings with his Cursillo group buddies. Michael worked as an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech Community College. He was passionate about teaching his students. Michael enjoyed working outside in the dirt gardening.
He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed technical books. Michael wrote an integrated oil and gas accounting system which he sold to oil companies in southern Illinois and Indiana. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Michael always had time to help the grandchildren whether it was with homework or learning to shovel the snow.
Michael is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margorie Clair McCullough of Evansville, IN; daughter, Jennifer Deckard of Evansville, IN; sons, George McCullough (Erin) of Naperville, IN and Robert McCullough (Carrie) of Lexington, KY; sisters, Vicki Goergen (Tom) of Evansville, IN, Margaret Guth (Ron) of Lahoya, CA; brother, Edward McCullough, Jr. of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Dillon Deckard (Tabby), Hayley Deckard, Scarlett Deckard, Graham Deckard, Jack Deckard, Jules McCullough, and Jackson McCullough.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathleen Muller and Maureen McCullough; and brother, John McCullough.
