Michael L. Cook, 64, of St. Petersburg, Florida, surrounded by family and friends, lost his courageous battle to cancer on September 21, 2013. Mike was born in Indianapolis to the late Leon and Esther Cook. He is survived by his loving wife, Yoke, devoted daughter, Jessica and sisters, Carole Ratz, Maureen Haney, Kathy Cooke and brother Jim Cook.Mike was a graduate of Latin High School (1967), Saint Meinrad Seminary College (1971), and earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from IUPUI (1977) and an MBA from University of South Florida (1989).Mike was a mentor in the Big Brother organization for several years. Mike served as a Peace Corp Volunteer for three years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he met and married his beautiful wife, Yoke. Upon returning to the United States, Mike served as Executive Director of two community based non-profit organizations for the disabled and elderly communities of St. Petersburg, Florida.
