COLUMBUS GROVE û Miriam ôSueö Hixenbaugh, 72, SSÆ91 (æ86-91) of Columbus Grove and formerly of Louisville, KY died at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at The Meadows of Kalida.She was born October 4, 1943 in Lima to the late Lee and Mary Margaret (Wellman) Hixenbaugh. Survivors include her two sisters: Anne (Eugene) Heitmeyer and Mary Ellen Smith, both of Columbus Grove; eight nieces and nephews: Kathy (Kenny) Rieman, Jeff (Dena) Heitmeyer, Julia (Pat) Vorst, Janelle (Jeff) Blankemeyer, David (Rita) Heitmeyer, Glenn (Lori) Smith, Kevin Smith, and Daniel Smith; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nephews.She was preceded in death by a brother: John ôJackö Hixenbaugh.Miriam was Principal at St. John The Vianney in Louisville and worked in Office of Lifelong Formation in Education at the Archdiocese of Louisville. She also worked at St. Agnes Parish before retirement. She was a member of various catholic churches. She attended St. John’s Catholic School, Lima and graduated from Lima Central Catholic School in 1961. She attended St. Catharine’s Junior College, Mary Manse College, University of Dayton where she received her Master’s Degree in Education, and Saint Meinard where she received a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies. She taught at St. Albert The Great, Louisville, St. Steplen Martyr, Louisville, St. Dominic, Springfield, KY, St. John Vianney, Louisville, and Holy Rosary Academy where she was in charge of religious education.
