James Joseph Breslin, age 78, passed away January 1, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Indianapolis, IN. He was the son of Irish immigrants, the late Patrick Breslin and the late Mary Pierce Breslin. Jim is preceded in death by his first wife; Sue Wilsbacher Breslin and his siblings; Kathleen Breslin and Michael Breslin. He is survived by his caring and loving wife; Shirley Henderson Breslin. He was loved by his daughters and son-in-laws; Paula and James Thorn of Johns Creek, GA, Joan and Michael Wrigley of Johns Creek, GA, and Elizabeth and Terry Good of Wordsworth, OH, stepson; Brian and Tish Henderson of Gainesville, FL, grandchildren; Connor Thorn, Erin Thorn, Virginia Wrigley, Margaret Wrigley, Ethan Good, Elliot Good, Mitchell Good, and Meredith Good, sisters; Mary Jane Brady and Ann Reckley both of Indianapolis, IN. Jim was a graduate of Cathedral High School (Indianapolis, IN) and Purdue University where he earned a degree in engineering. He loved his time at Purdue and was delighted to tell his grandchildren stories about his Alpha Tau Omega fraternity days. Jim began his career with Western Electric, where his job took him to Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, New Jersey, and then finally Atlanta. Jim retired from AT&T/ Lucent in 1996 as vice president of labor negotiations. During his retirement he enjoyed reading, traveling, and being a member of the Seniors Golf Group of Rivermont Country Club. Jim gave of himself generously, always there to lend a helping hand. Jim’s wit, vast knowledge, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. His life was a life well lived. He was a member of Saint Brigids Catholic Church.
