Born December 8, 1927 in Chrisney, IN, he founded Brahm Trucking Service, Inc., and was a Loretto Businessman. Norbert was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Peterson Brahm, two sons, Jack Brahm and Baby Ben Brahm, four brothers, Bob (Hank”), Gene, Raphael and Leroy Brahm. Survivors include his children, Betty Ann and Marvin Harned of Bardstown, Mary Sue and Joe Smith of Burgin, Pat and Robby O’Daniel of Lebanon, Lee and Theresa Brahm of Loretto, Kathy and Bob Abell of Lebanon, Ray Brahm and his friend, Linda Blair, Tom and Debbie Brahm of Loretto, Bernadette and Mark O’Daniel of Lebanon, Carolyn and Mike Edberg of Loretto, Margaret and Mike Reynolds of Louisville, Kim Brahm of Loretto, and Ricky Brahm of Loretto. Also a special part of his survivors include his grandchildren, M.T. and Bobbi Harned, Kevin Harned, Wendy and James Spragens, Beth Smith, Stuart and Allison O’Daniel, Dana and Steve Deverall, Ben and Cara Brahm, Ann and Kyle Hadley, Larry Brahm, Amber and Jim Eubank, Paul Michael Brahm, Lesley and Del Leachman, Bradley Abell, Martha and Larry McCauley, Michael Brahm, Tom Brahm II, Cody Brahm, Scottie Ann and Corey Jones, T. J. and Stefanie O’Daniel, Katie and Chad Clark, Megan Minrath, Adam Minrath, Michael Reynolds, Joe Reynolds, Elizabeth Corbett, Mary Brahm, Tony Brahm, Richard and Rochelle Brahm, Levi Brahm and Hannah Brahm. “Grandpa Brahm” was also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and five new family members to come in 2012. Brothers, sisters surviving include Mary Faye and Marvin Welp of Schnellville, IN, Kathy and Harold Thomas of Morganfield, Micky and Ron Smith of Ferdinand, IN, Cleon and Pearline Brahm of St. Meinrad, IN, Mildred Brahm, of Ferdinand, IN, Lucille Brahm of Ferdinand, IN, Catherine Rogers, Bill and Rosemary Peterson, Angela Peterson, Fr. Gerald Peterson, Fr. George Peterson and Fr. Harry Peterson, Geraldine Peterson, Mary Frances Peterson and Bobby Peterson. A special friend, Evelyn Cissell. Mass of Christian Burial is 12:30 PM Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, Saint Francis, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Gerald Peterson, Rev. Chris Allegra and Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrants. Visiting 2-9 PM Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with prayers at 7 PM.
