RANDALL D. WIESEMANN, 73, passed peacefully into his next life on August 22, 2021. He was born March 11, 1948 in Gary, IN, the oldest of five children. He entered seminary in high school at St. Nazianz in WI, earned a BA in history/drama from Saint Meinrad, in IN and did graduate work at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary, Mundelein, IL. After leaving seminary in 1973 he worked for Interfaith Chaplaincy Service as the Director of Chain of Lakes Sr. Services in West Lake County, IL. for 10 years. During this time he was honored to be elected the first male president of a Chicago area regional director of volunteer services organization. He shared his family’s great sense of humor and was a warm, sensitive, compassionate, loving person. He loved watching the Cubs and Da Bears and did not hesitate to tell them his opinion when they didn’t live up to his expectations. He learned to play golf to better enjoy the annual Fall trips he and Ruth Ann made to Door County, WI for 30+ years. An avid runner, he completed four Chicago marathons, as well as many 5k and 10k races, until 2013 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson/Lewy Body Disease. Although this disease brought many changes and losses to his life, he accepted them with few complaints while continuing to challenge his limits.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ruth Ann (nee Challis), his sisters, Terri (Kim) Barnard of Portage, IN, Lisa Wiesemann of Hobart, IN, and a brother, Gregory (Debbie) Wiesemann of Highland, IN and many nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved cats, Kate and Jude. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome F. and Ann (nee Sawa) Wiesemann, and a brother, Jerome F. (Debbie) Wiesemann, Jr., of Aurora, IL.
