Reverend Gilbert Z. Puznakoski, Age 76, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, August 6, 2026. Son of the late Zygmunt and Mary (Gazda) Puznakoski; brother of Rita M. Ladanyi of Medford, MA.
Fr. Gilbert was ordained on May 3, 1975, at St. Paul’s Cathedral of Pittsburgh by the late Bishop Vincent M. Leonard. During his 51 years as Priest, Fr. Gilbert’s Parochial Vicar assignments took him to New Castle, Elwood City, and Pittsburgh. In addition, he served as Chaplain for Jefferson Hospital, UPMC Shadyside, Allegheny General Hospital, St. Clair Hospital, Kane Regional, and Asbury Heights.
