Richard “Dick” Scheller, 78, passed away on October 17, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born December 17, 1941 to Leo and Lucina (Schaefer) Scheller.

Dick graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1959 and looked forward to the class reunions and never missed one. He served in the US Navy. Dick worked at Ball Plastic and retired from General Electric in 2003. Dick and Mary enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states. On trips with friends and family he was known as the “Responsible One”. He loved attending all the grandchildren’s activities, especially sports. Dick loved to cook and came up with his own unique and delicious recipes. He truly was the World’s Greatest Father. He volunteered at St. Anthony Soup Kitchen and gave tours on the LST 325. Dick was a member of Funkhouser Post #8 and St. Philip Catholic Church.

Dick is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary (Goebel) Scheller of Evansville; daughters, Sherri (John) Bittner, Kristi (Derek) Sanders, and Stephanie (Ryan) Frey; son Terry Scheller; sister Mary Jane Schroeder; grandchildren Jennifer (Kendall) O’Donnell, Austin, Kylie, and Conner Frey; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brothers Joe, Bob, and Don Scheller; and his sister Margie Crowe.
