Richard G. Grenough, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born in Louisville, KY on October 03,1934 to Edgar R. Grenough and Bernadine Dudine Grenough. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church for many years. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Claudia K. Grenough, his children Elizabeth “Libby” Grenough, Gregory “Greg” Gardiner (Regina), Laura Meagher (Jim), William “Bill” Gardiner (Angela), Thomas “Tom” Gardiner (Tracy), 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and sisters Millie Grenough, Rose Nett and Jean Percy.Rich is preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Grenough, and Vince Grenough and sister Mary Grenough. Rich was a Catholic priest in parish ministry for 14 years. During the first 9 of those years, he was a teacher at Trinity High School. He became increasingly active in the field of interracial justice and spent the final years of his priesthood as Executive Director of the Louisville Area Council on Religion and Race. Later, Rich developed and taught technical training for International Harvester in Chicago, Illinois. He spent the last 20 years prior to retirement with Humana, where he taught Customer Service and Communication skills. Rich will be remembered as a devoted husband to Claudia…the love of his life for almost 51 years. He will be remembered as a devoted father, teacher and example to his children, and as a man of unlimited kindness, patience and love for life. We are grateful for the care and kindness Rich received during his stay at Nazareth Home.
