Robert James, Bob, RJ, Kahle died January 16th 2025 aged 79 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky Ohio.  Bob was born on May 25, 1945 in Bellevue to Ignatius Kahle and Betty Ann (Koechley) Kahle.

As a child, Bob attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School in Bellevue, Ohio. He later attended Our Lady of the Lake Seminary and Saint Meinrad Seminary, both located in Indiana.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he completed his airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and went on to become a Green Beret. He served with the 1st Special Forces Group in the Pacific. Following his military service, Bob traveled to Israel, where he worked on a kibbutz. Upon returning to the United States, he attended Bemidji State University in Minnesota.

Bob enjoyed a long and successful career with the Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring as a Conductor.

In his personal life, Bob enjoyed fishing, boating, and Apple computers.

Survived by wife Laurie and son Zach. Bob will be deeply missed by his brothers Bill (Nan), Larry (Janis), Roger (Jane), and his nieces and

nephews.
