Ronald Richard Allen, 76, of Evansville, passed away on October 8, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.Ron was born June 1, 1938, to Arthur and Mary Jane Allen. He grew up in Evansville, and attended St. Meinrad Seminary and Memorial High School. He graduated from Evansville College and attended Indiana University where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence. Ron practiced law as a labor attorney with Fine & Hatfield for over 40 years, serving many clients in the Evansville and Tri-State area. Ron enjoyed football, sailing, road-trips, serving the community and spending time with his family. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Jane Allen; and grandchildren, Madeline and Collin Lynn.Ron is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Allen, of Evansville; his sister, Cynthia (Allen) Scollin, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his six children, Heather Hershberger (Steve), Jason Allen (Heather), Emily Lynn (Adam), Edwin Allen, Elliott Allen and Ellen Allen (Phillip); seven grandchildren, Parker and Meredith Hershberger, Trent, Mac and Kate Allen, Jack and Maxwell Lynn; and nieces, Stephanie and Priscilla Scollin. Ron was a loving son, brother, husband and father. He gave graciously to those he could, especially his family. Ron will be greatly missed for the love and kindness he extended to his family and community.
