KHSSL (Kentucky High School Speech League) extends its deepest sympathy to the family of Ruth Blair, former teacher at LaRue County High School and co-founder of LCHS Speech and Debate with her late husband Garland Blair. Mrs. Blair died on November 21, 2012 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.Mrs. Blair was a 2000 inductee into the KHSSL Hall of Fame and was the mother of current LCHS head speech coach Katy Blair Cecil.The memorial is Thursday at 7 at Our Lady of Mercy in Hodgenville. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Blair requested that donations be made to the LaRue County Friends of the Library or to the LaRue County High School Speech Team of which she had been an avid supporter for more than 40 years.
