Sheridan E. O’Rourk, age 83, formerly of 1304 Buchholz Street, Two Rivers, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care Center, Two Rivers.
Sheridan was born August 18, 1933 in Janesville, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Sheridan) O’Rourk. He graduated from St. Francis Minor Seminary, Milwaukee and from St. Norbert’s College with a BS degree in Teaching. Sheridan served in the Army Reserve with the 377th Ordinance Company. He was united in marriage to Marlene Smogoleski on June 18, 1960 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2012.
Sheridan was an English teacher working at Mishicot High School (3 yrs.), Washington High School, Two Rivers (7 yrs.) and Roncalli High School, Manitowoc (27 yrs.) where he retired from in 1995. He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge #1308, Commission on Aging, former president of the Library Board, Two Rivers Senior Center and their Chorus, as well as enjoying golf.
Survivors include two nieces: Amanda Plansky, Sheboygan; Holly (Raymond) Anderson, Mishicot; one nephew: Scott Plansky, Madison; great nieces and nephews: Vivian & Vincent, Justin & James, and Nick; as well as other relatives and friends. Sheridan was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marlene, one sister Kay Crawford and one sister-in-law Janet Plansky.
