Sister Davidica Cronin, IHM, was born in Detroit and given the name Catherine. She attended several elementary schools and Our Lady of Help High School in Detroit. She became a member of the IHM in in 1926.Sister Davidica earned a bachelor’s degree from Marygrove College and a master’s degree from Wayne State University. She ministered for 45 years in formal education, three of these years as school supervisor. She ministered at St. Michael’s, St. John’s and Monroe Catholic Central High School; Sacred Heart, Roseville; St. Vincent, Akron, Ohio; Sacred Heart, Dearborn; St. Agnes, Sr. Rose, St. Mary of Redford, All Saints, Detroit; and St. Mary, Mt. Clemens.Sister Davidica also worked as a guidance director; teacher, director and consultant in adult education; and as a librarian. She ministered as education minister for the Formation of Catechists in the Archdiocese of Detroit, conducting formal training sessions for catechists, performing accreditation visits to Archdiocesan elementary and high schools upon request and meeting with adults once a month for scripture study in the Monroe Vicariate.Sister Davidica was a member of the Michigan Chapter of the Catholic Library Association for four decades and served as part-time librarian at Cardinal Mooney High School in Marine City, Mich., from 1991 to 1998. Sister Dividica was admitted to the IHM Motherhouse Health Care Center in 2003, where she resided until her death. She was 97.
