Sister Zita was the sister of Mary (Paul) Miller, and the late Peter, Valentine, Guy, Gerard, Chad, Leonard, Barbara Green, and Vera Geibel; also survived by many nieces and nephews.Sister Zita served as teacher, principal, and librarian for over 40 years in the Dioceses of Pittsburgh and San Juan, Puerto Rico; she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools in San Juan and as the Executive Director of Government Programs in the Pittsburgh Diocesan Catholic Schools Office. Sister also ministered as Director of Religious Education in several parishes in the Pittsburgh Diocese. After a sabbatical at St. Meinrad’s, she stayed on and served as a librarian in the Periodical/Research Department at the Archabbey. The last several years she was active in prayer ministry of the congregation. Sister Zita will be remembered for her willingness to be of service in whatever way she could.
