Sister Mechtilde Gogel, OLVM, age 94, a resident of Victory Noll, died Monday July 1, 2013, at 9:40 a.m.at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington, IN.Sister Mechtilde was born in Mariah Hill, Indiana on November 13, 1918 to Paul Gogel and Theresa Tretter Gogel. Her parents and four brothers, Alvin, Carl, Zeno and Rev. Odo Gogel, precede her in death. She is survived one sister, Pauline Kern of Ferdinand, Indiana. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews along with her Victory Noll sisters with whom she shared life and ministry for 72 years.Sister Mechtilde entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on October 28, 1941 and made first vows on August 5, 1944. She served in the missions in Michigan, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. Sister retired to Victory Noll in 2007.A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 4, 2013, with calling one hour prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W Park Drive, Huntington, IN.Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2013, with calling one hour prior to the Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Rev. Thomas Fahey will be officiating.Burial will be at Victory Noll cemetery.McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N.
