Stephen A. Pfaff, 74, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, died on April 8, 2013 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Steve was born Feb. 6, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN. He attended St. Mark’s grade school and Sacred Heart High School. Steve owned Norris Food Service, Inc. in Beech Grove, IN for many years and practiced real estate as Steve Pfaff Real Estate in Sarasota and in Indianapolis as Pfaff’s Home Team. Steve had many interests; riding horses, helping kids, Disney, education but most of all fishing. Steve was an amazing man. He was best known for his kindness, compassion and generosity towards others. He was always willing to help his fellow man in their time of need. It has been said he had a larger than life personality. Steve is survived by his soul mate of 50 years, wife Ruth (Norris); daughter, Lisa Pfaff of Sarasota, FL; son, Jim Pfaff and wife, Jennifer and grandchildren, Collin and Chase of Charleston, SC; son, Ed Pfaff of Sarasota, FL; and daughter, Joanie Rhoten and husband, Albert and granddaughter, Ashley of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Marilyn and Mary Jane; brothers, John, Tom, Jerry, Joe and Jim and wonderful nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Sammy. Please join Steve’s family for visitation on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. with Mass immediately following at St. Paul’s Hermitage – 501 N 17th Ave, Beech Grove, IN 46107.
