Stephen Flynn, 57, of Greenwood, the victim of a violent crime, was shot and killed on March 30, 2023. Steve was born on August 23, 1965, to the late Robert and Frances (Sullivan) Flynn, Sr., in Indianapolis.

After Steve graduated from Tri High School in 1983, he went on to study History at Saint Meinrad. He continued his studies at Mundelein College, and completed an internship for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, this is the time that he met Shannon.

In 1992, Steve married Shannon at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Steve and Shannon went on to have 2 beautiful children, Patrick and Brigid. Steve was also expecting his first grandchild any day.

Steve worked at various positions for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis – Right to Life Office and Development Director at Holy Cross Catholic Church. He went on to work as an operations manager at FedEx for over 20 years.

Steve always made an effort to help others. He worked many years for the March of Dimes walk and HOSTS program in Washington Township. Anytime he could help another he would do it to the best of his ability.

A part of his heart was always on “the Hill”. Anytime that Saint Meinrad asked for his help, he would answer their call. Whether it was his letter to his classmates or to serve on the Board of Directors, he would gladly serve. The faith that he cultivated on the Hill stayed with him for his lifetime.
