Steven Douglas Moore O’72 (’60-62), age 67, of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital. Steve was born March 31, 1946, in Evansville to Malcolm and Ruth (Reising) Moore. He graduated from Mater Dei High School, received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Evansville. Steve proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 8, 2000, he married the former, Jan Bradley. Steve treasured his wife, family and lifelong friendships. He will be remembered by all as a devoted husband, son, father and friend.Following his military service, Steve worked as a consultant and procurement manager for Bristol Myers, Dow, Perrigo, Albermarle, Deloitte, Conley and Big Rivers Energy, which allowed him the opportunity to travel to and reside in different cities and countries around the world. In retirement, Steve was an avid learner, taking history courses at the University of Southern Indiana. Steve also enjoyed giving back through education, volunteering as a tutor for Highland Elementary School’s reading program and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Jan (Bradley) Moore; a daughter, Sarah Moore of Evansville; two sons, Heath Moore and his wife, Nichole, and Jeremy Moore, both of Madison, WI; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Maresh of Indianapolis, IN; his mother, Ruth Moore of Evansville; a sister, Melanie Moore of Evansville; five brothers, Thomas (Janet) Moore of Benton, KY, Michael Moore of Huntington, WV, Donald (Janie) Moore of Evansville, Timothy (Gilda) Moore of Hanford, CA and Joseph “Barney” (Mary Lou) Moore of Evansville; and two grandchildren, Justin Stram and Penelope Moore.Steve was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Moore. Funeral services were held June 15, 2013, with a Mass of Christian Burial at at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
