Mr. Victor Louis Pfister, 73, of Whitestown passed on to eternal life on May 28, 2018.Victor was born January 7, 1945 in San Francisco, California, son of the late Italo Victor “Zip” Barbieri and Marie Jeanne (Eierman) Barbieri Pfister. Victor’s father died in WWII in 1944 just shortly before his birth. When four-year-old Victor’s mother married Charles Pfister, the family moved to Terre Haute where his eight siblings were born.Victor, a Vietnam War veteran, served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and then moved to Indianapolis where he met the love of his life, Bonnie Sue Alexander Pfister. Vic worked for Sysco Food Services as a truck driver for 35 years, retiring in 2011, a three time National Haul of Champions Truck Driving Rodeo champion.Victor was a member of the Teamsters 135, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, a sponsor and facilitator of Cursillo, a member of St. Meinrad Oblates and St. Vincent de Paul. He was also an avid ham radio operator and a member of the ARRL-Amateur Radio Relay League.Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; children, Geoff (Jacki) Barbieri of Missouri, Aaron (Emily) Pfister of Williamsport and Gerri (Douglas) Pagach of Speedway; grandchildren, Victor Barbieri, Kristin Pagach, Vincent Barbieri, Owen Pfister and Elijah Pfister; brothers, Hank (Pat) Pfister of Virginia, Edward (Jackie) Pfister of Maryland and Bill (Judy) Pfister, George Pfister and Vincent Pfister all of Terre Haute; and sisters, Josie Newport of Terre Haute, Katy (John) Gyurek of Indianapolis and Fran (Mark) Deren of Virginia; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
