Bill was born March 5, 1927, in New Albany to the late Edward and Catherine (Weinmann) Grantz and was the widower of Mary Edith Grantz. He died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Azalea Hills Assisted Living in Floyds Knobs. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and retired as Vice-President after 39 years with National City Bank in Louisville. He was a graduate of Saint Meinrad high school, a life-long, very active and involved member of Holy Family Catholic Church and past president of the Serra Club and Men’s Club of Holy Family Church. He was a member of L.I.F.T. and a 4th degree member of the Cardinal Ritter Council K of C in New Albany. Bill will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by two infant sons Edward and Lawrence, nine siblings, his parents and his wife of 59 years.Survivors include three children, Raymond Grantz and wife Nancy; Therese Beal and husband, Jim; Diane Hauswald and husband, Steve; seven grandchildren, Erik, Katie, Jeff, Emily, Michelle, Matt and Vickie; 10 great-grandchildren, Ava, Cooper, Bree, Nathaniel, Abby, Kellen, Karoline, Annabelle, Alexander and Chase.
